The pendant is in used but very good condition. Complete with leather string. It was issued to soldier who served in a Gebirgsjäger unit within the 5.Gebirgs-Division. The following units served under this division Gebirgs-Panzerjäger-Abteilung 95, Gebirgs-Aufklärungs-Abteilung 95, Gebirgs-Pionier-Bataillon 95, Gebirgs-Nachrichten-Abteilung 95, Gebirgs-Sanitäts-Abteilung 95, Gebirgs-Feldersatz-Bataillon 95 and the Gebirgs-Nachschubtruppen 95.
The 5.Gebirgs-Division was also called the 'Gamsbock-Division' due to it's insignia: a mountain antelope (Gamsbock) standing on a triple mountain peak. This division fought in Greece, Crete, Leningrad and Italy.
