The dog tag shows overall normal, minor signs of wear. It belonged to Hans Rathartwho served at the Marinestation Nordsee. The 'ET' behind the year means 'Ergänzungssoldat technischer Laufbahn'. The 'O' stands for the bloodtype. The number 40 stands for the year 1940. On the back a gefangenennummer 'A58/227' is carved in.
