The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall normal signs of wear. It belonged to a member of the Volkssturm. He was drafted within Marsch-Bataillon XX/VIII (V). The (V) stands for Volkssturm. The bataillon is known as Bau-Bataillon XX/VIII (V) and was formed in mid March 1945. It became part of the Heerestruppe short after. It was put into action in the Danzig area.
The back of the tag is marked twice with 'DW' which stands for Deutsche Wehrmacht.
Hard to find tag.
