The grouping shows overall normal signs of (storage) wear. It belonged to a Marine Artillerie Hauptgefreiter Franz Rathke who served in the 1.batterie Marineartillerie Abteilung 632. This unit was formed in 1943 and operated in Italy.
The grouping consist out of;
- Kriegsabzeichen fur die Marineartillerie award document. Dated 16 October 1942. Signed by Konteradmiral und Küstenbefehlshaber Deutsche Bucht Gustav Kieseritzky.
- Information from Franz's Soldbuch. Dated 1 September 1945.
- Batterie-level certificate for a bottle of 'Lebenselixier'.
- P.O.W. Form with the data of Franz.
- P.O.W. card saying that Franz was in British captivity and in good health. Dated 23 January 1945.
- 8 Photographs in different sizes.
- 9 Different other documents, pre war and p.o.w. related.
