Very nice Luftwaffe dogtag in good condition that belonged to a soldier that served a (Ausbildungs) Kompanie (I.Bataillon) Flieger Ausbildungs Regiment 10. This regiment was formed in April 1939 in Neukuhren. In early April 1941 the regiment moved to Maubeuge, Belgium. In august 1942 the regiment was renamed into Flieger Regiment 10. In september of that year the regiment was used to form Luftwaffen-Feld-Division 1. In November it saw combat in the area of Demjansk, Ilmensee and then for almost a year in the area of Novgorod.
In November 1943 the division was taken over by the Heer and renamed 1.Feld-Division (L). In Januari 1944 the division was destroyed and remnants where absorbed into 28.jager-Division. It saw combat in Raum Kowel as part of the 4.Panzerarmee and then the 2.Armee. The division was destroyed/defeated in April during Heiligenbeil Pocket fights.
The 'AB' on both parts of the tag stands for the bloodtype of the soldier.
Interesting dogtag.
