Very nice Wehrmacht Nachschubführer related tag in used, but very good condition.
The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall normal signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served in the Infanterie-Divisions-Nachschubführer 21. This unit was formed in August 1939 and was part of the 21.Infanterie-Division. In November 1942 it was renamed into Kommandeur der Infanterie-Divisions-Nachschubtruppen 21 and in 1944 it was disbanned. The 21.Infanterie-Division saw its first combat during the invasion of Poland that took place in September 1939. After that it moved to the west to prepare for the invasion of France that took place in May 1940.
In June 1941 it participated in the invasion of Russia and fought in the areas of Ladoga and Volkhow. Later it also operated in Pleskau, Tilsit and East Preussia.
The 'A' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
