The tag shows overall signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served in the Feldeisenbahn Betriebs Abteilung 4. This was an railway operations unit within the Wehrmacht Pioniertruppe. Abteilung 4 was formed in March 1941 as Feldeisenbahn Betriebs Amt 4. In March 1942 it became Abteilung 4. The unit was put into action while stationed on different stations on the eastern front such as Bahnhof Wjasma, Bahnhof Rshew, Gshatsk, Bahnhof Osuga and later with Heeresgruppe Nord in Kurland. Soldiers of the Feldeisenbahn Betriebs units could be recognized on the 'EB' cyphers on their shoulder-straps.
The 'O' on bot parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
