Beautiful and hard to find Early (1939!) Gebirgsjäger 'Bergmütze'.
The overall condition of this mountain cap is used but very good. It's shows normal signs of wear. Couple of tiny moth bites (which are all visible on the photos). The outside is complete with it's hand applied Bevo T-Shaped eagle and Edelweiss Mütze abzeichen. It looks like the Edelweiss is period applied. It sits very tide on the cap, the wear matches the cap and the 'ghost' underneath it, is visible. The 2 aluminium pebbled buttons on the 'flap(s)' are probably later replacements for the brown 'Steinnuss' buttons (could also have been an officer upgrade).
On the inside it's complete with it's sweatband and stiffened front to the crown. The sweatband shows signs of wear and has a small repair (see the photos). The Mütze is marked by it's maker 'Georg Teufel (&) Sohn' from 'Tuttlingen', size marked '55' Depot marked 'M' (Munich) and dated '39' (1939). Above the marking, there is a nice name label present.
(Last photo is with a piece of filling material)
Overall a very nice early Bergmütze, which are not so easy to find nowadays.
