Death notice of a SS schütze who was killed in action on the 20th of Januari 1942 in Russia.
The card shows overall normal signs of wear. Karl Amering was a Schütze in Totenkopf Aufklärungs Abteilung 2. He died near Staraja-Russa, Russia of a shot in the chest.
He lies on the cemetery of in that same area.
Interesting thing is that both the notice and the webiste of the Volksbund says he died on the 20 of January 1942, but the period notice says he died on the 20th of November 1941. So he was problaby MIA on the 20th of November 1941 and declared dead on the 20 of January 1942.
Note; we don't the card on the last scan.
