Death notice of Georg Wüst who died on the 25th of June 1944 in the area of Alexinitschi, Russia.
The cards shows overall normal signs of storage wear. Georg was an Unteroffizier and served within the 1.Batterie Sturmgeschütz Brigade 281. This unit was formed in October 1943 in France as Sturmgeschütz Abteilung 281. In December it was transported to the area of Vitebsk were it was put into action. In January 1944 it was renamed into Sturmgeschütz Brigade 281.
During Operation Bagration, which started on the 22nd of June 1944, the Brigade still operated in the Vitebsk area. Within 4 days the Brigade lost ALL of its sturmgeschützen and during this period Georg was killed.
