The map case shows normal signs of use. The leather is supple and all the straps are present. A bit of the seam on both sides has comes loose, but doesn't really affect the map case (can be fixed in the right hands). The mapcase is dated '1936' and maker marked 'Ernst Kohlle' from 'Solingen' on the in- and outside. The map case is also unit marked '3.Kompanie (I.Bataillon) Panzer Regiment 8'. This regiment was formed in October 1936. During the invasion of Poland the regiment was part of the 10.Panzer-Division. After Poland it participated in the invasion of France.
After France it became part of the 15.Panzer-Division and was sent to Afrika to fight in Lybia and in 1943 in Tunisia.
