Very nice and hard to find schwere Infanteriegeschütz (s.I.G.) related tag in used, but very good condition.
The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall normal signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served within the 9.(s.I.G.)Kompanie Panzer Grenadier Regiment 112. This regiment was formed in mid July 1942 in Russia from Schützen Regiment 112. It was part of the 20.Panzer-Division and fought on the eastern front. The 9.Kompanie was a schwere Infanteriegeschütz Kompanie which means they were equipped with a armored vehicle such as the 15cm sIG 33 (Sf) also known as the Sturmpanzer I Bison or 15cm sFH 13/1 Lorraine (f).
The 'AB' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
