Very nice edelstahl (inox) Luftwaffe Fallschirmjäger related tag in used, but very good condition.
The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall signs of wear. The number '263715D' tell us the soldier served in the 8.Kompanie II.Bataillon Fallschimjäger Ersatz und Ausbildung Regiment 3. This regiment was formed in the summer of 1944 in France. In September 1944 the 2nd bataillon Kampfgruppe Bloch fought in Raum Eindhoven-Nimwegen during Operation Market Garden.
After the defeat of the Allies the Kampfgruppe was stationed, and fought, in the area of Schijndel. It participated in fights in the 's Hertogenbosch area in October 1944 and south of Vught. By the end of Februari the 2nd Bataillon was stationed in Lochem (NL). In April it was stationed in Haselünnen.
Interesting piece.
