Aluminium Wehrmacht Schützen related tag in used condition.
The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served within the 6.Kompanie Schützen Regiment 11. This regiment was formed in March 1940 It was formed from the Kavallerie Schutzen Regiment 11. It was part of the 9.Panzerarmee. It operated in Rumania and Serbia in early 1941. From June 1941 onwards it operated in Russia and fought in areas like Brjansk, Kursk, Woronesh and Orel. Later in the war it also fought during the Normandy campaign and also Market Garden.
The regiment was renamed Panzergreandier Regiment 11 in July 1942.
The 'O' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
