Very nice aluminium dog tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' from a soldier who served in the 5.Kompanie Infanterie Regiment 91.

The tag shows overall normal signs of wear. The II.Bataillon (5-8 Kp.) of Infanterie Regiment 91 was formed in late summer 1939 and was part of the 27.Infanterie-Division. In late Januari 1940 the II.Bataillon was used to form Infanterie Regiment 522 and a new II.Bataillon was formed. In October 1940 the regiment left the 17.Panzer-Division (former 27.Inf-Div.) and that same month the regiment was used to form Gebirgsjager Regiment 91 as part of the 4.Gebirgs-Division.
