The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall normal signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served within the 5.Kompanie Flieger Ersatz Bataillon XII. This unit was formed in 1942 in Trier. Soldiers of this bataillon ended up in different Luftwaffe (Flieger) units and we found some info that 3 members that served in Bataillon XII ended up in Flieger Regiment 51 and where KIA in the Netherlands.
