Very nice aluminium Wehrmacht Landesschützen related tag in used, but very good condition.
The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall normal signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served in the 4.Kompanie Landsschützen Bataillon 560. This unit was formed in late August 1939 in Brieg as Landesschützen Bataillon X/VIII. In September 1939 the bataillon moved to Poland and in December it operated in the Zowiecie area. In April 1940 it was renamed into Bataillon 560. By this time it was stationed in Germany again. In August 1940 it became part of the the Wehrmachtbefehlshaber Urkaine and now operated in the Dnjepropetrowsk area. It was moved back to Germany again in the autumn of 1943.
The 'O' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype. It comes with a large part of the original neckcord.
