Nice worn dog tag from a soldier who served in the 3.Kompanie Landesschützen Bataillon z.b.V.577.
The dog tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows normal signs of wear. The 3.Kompanie Landesschützen Bataillon z.b.V.577 was formed in April 1940 with 3 companies as an occupation force in the West. It was moved to Raum Mezieres in France. In Februari 1943 the bataillon was used to form the IV.Bataillon of Sicherungs-Regiment 191 in Amiens, France. It stayed in France untill it was destroyed in the summer of 1944.
The 'AB' on both parts of the tag stands for the blood type of the soldier.
