Nice aluminium Wehrmacht Kranken Kraftwagen related tag in used condition.
The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served in the 2.Kranken Kraftwagen Zug 60. This unit was formed in early 1940 and part of the the 'Versorgungstruppen 60' which was part of the 9.Panzer-Division. This division participated in the invasion of the Netherlands and pushed all the way through to Rotterdam. After that it moved to fight in France. After France it moved to the east and from June 1941 onwards it operated in areas like Brjansk, Kursk, Woronesh, Orel and Kriwoi Rog.
In January 1944 the division and her units moved to France again to strenghten and in Jun 1944 it participated in the Normandy campaign fighting fiercely against the Americans. In September 1944 it participated in Arnhem during Operation Market Garden and in the winter of 1944 it fought in the Ardennes.
