The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall normal signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who was drafted in the 2.Kompanie Veterinär Ersatz Abteilung 6. This unit was formed in February 1941 in Soest, Germany. It trained and supplied soldiers for different units.
In April 1943 the unit was renamed into Veterinär Ersatz und Ausbildungs Abteilung 6.
The 'A' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
