The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall normal signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served within the 2.Kompanie Panzer Nachrichten Ersatz Abteilung 81. This abteilung was formed in August 1939 in Weimar as Nachrichten Ersatz Abteilung (mot.) 81. In October 1942 the abteilung was renamed into Panzer Nachrichten Ersatz Abteilung 81.
The 'O' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
