The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served within the 2.Kompanie Landesschützen Bataillon 308. This unit was formed in August 1939 in Brandenburg as Landesschützen Bataillon VIII/III. In April 1940 it was renamed into Landesschützen Bataillon 308.
This tag was field made, probably became the soldier lost his first one. It's a bit bigger then a standard Erkennungsmarke.
The 'B' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
