The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall normal signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served within the 2.Kompanie Feldzeug Bataillon 10. This unit was formed in October 1940 in Euskirchen and was put into action for the first time in West France in 1940. In late 1944, early 1945 it operated under Heeresgruppe G on the Western front. A Feldzeug unit was a military technical and logistics unit.
The 'A' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's Bloodtype.
