All pieces show overall normal signs of wear. The 'Heldentod' document is named to a Rudolf Heise who was a Grenadier in the 3.Kompanie Grenadier Regiment 118. This regiment was part of the 38.Infanterie-Division and her units fought in the area of Bobriusk when Rudolf was killed in action.

There are 2 additional photographs of graves. The middle grave is named to a Wilhelm Heise. Wilhelm was the older brother of Rudolf and died on the 20th of May 1942 in Hoek van Holland, the Netherlands. After doing some research on Wilhelm we found out that he was killed during an accident that happened with test firing a Dutch 24cm ship canon which the Germans used a Batterie Brandenburg.
18 People died. 16 Soldiers and 2 civilians. Wilhelm was one of the civilians. He was there as a mechanic of the company Krupp. The whole story of this tragic accident can be found (in Dutch) on this nice website Historisch Hoek van Holland

The clear photograph is stamped and signed on the back 'Fregattenkapitan und Kommandeur des Marineartilleriezeugamts Den Haag'. The close up photographs of the grave is marked on the back 'Den Haag 14/7 1942'.

See the last picture for info on Wilhelm (please note that we don't own that info card).
