The overall condition of the EK1 is top. It still has almost all of its finish and is complete with working pin and catch. The catch cannot be fully opened (see the last photo), but is fully functional to attach to a uniform.
The (unmagnatic) core still has 99% of its original black colour and the pin is marked '15' which means the EK1 is made by 'Friedrich Orth'.
Very nice example of a medal which is becoming increasingly difficult to find
