Nice Wehrmacht Grenadier regiment related tag in used, but good condition.
The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served within the 11.Kompanie Grenadier Regiment 391. The unit was formed in November 1939 as Infanterie Regiment 391 in Munsterlagen and was part of the 170.Infanterie-Disivion. In October 1942 it was renamed in to Grenadier Regiment 391.
As part of the division it fought on the eastern front in areas like Odessa, Krim, Sewastopol,Leningrad, Narwa, Suwalki and Ostpreußen. In April 1945 a large part was captured by the Russian and the other part by the British in Kiel.
Non ersatz related Grenadier tags are not easy to find.
