The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who was drafted in the 1.Kompanie Sanitäts Ersatz Abteilung 1. This unit was formed in October 1939 and it trained and supplied soldiers for different units. On the back there is a unit that is crossed out, but reads 'Sanitäts Kompanie 399' which is the unit were they soldier served first.
