The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall normal signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served within the 1.Kompanie Landesschützen Bataillon 305. This bataillon was formed in August 1939 in Cottbus as Landesschüten Bataillon V/III. In April 1940 it was renamed into Landeschützen Bataillon 305.
In 1943 the bataillon fell under the command of tehe Kommandeur der Kriegsgefangenen III.
The 'B' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
