Nice worn dog tag from a soldier who served in the 4.Kompanie Feldersatz Bataillon 183.
The dog tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows normal signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served in the '4.Kompanie Feldersatz Bataillon 183'. This bataillon was formed in June 1944 with 4 kompanies as part of the 83.Infanterie-Division. The division was by then stationed in Ostrow, Poland. It saw combat in Lettland,Kurland, Westpreußen and Hela where the division and its units where captured by the Russians.
The 'B' on the tag stands for the bloodtype of the soldier.
