The dog tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served in the '4.Batterie schwere Artillerie Ersatz Abteilung 65 motorisiert. The ersatz abteilung trained and supplied men to different Heeres-Küstenartillerie-Abteilungen, Artillerie-Abteilungen, Panzer-Artillerie-Regimenter.
The 'A' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
