The document shows overall signs of wear. Folded twice. The Eisernes Kreuz 2.Klasse was awarded on the 1st of July 1940 to Unteroffizier Krähe who served in the 2 Kompanie Infanterie Regiment 66. This regiment was formed from Reichswehr troops in October 1935. It was part of the 13.Infanterie-Division. With this division it saw its first combat during the invasion of Poland. After Poland it particitpated in the invasion of France. Here is where Krähe earned his EKII. After France the division and her units where moved to Poland and in May 1941 the regiment was renamed in to Schützen-Regiment 66. It participated in Operation Barbarossa and fought in areas like Kiew,Mius,Kaukasus, Kuban,Kriwoi Rog and Dnjestr. In July 1942 the regiment was renamed in to Panzer-Grenadier-Regiment 66. It was destroyed in August 1944 in Ukrain. In October 1944 it was rebuild again with parts of Panzer-Grenadier-Bataillon 2110 (gepanzert). Again it was part of the 13.Panzer-Division. In March 1945 the regiment was renamed in to Panzer-Grenadier-Regiment Feldherrnhalle 3.
