The dog tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served in the '2.Batterie Reserve Flak Abteilung 522'. This abteilung was formed in August 1939 and consisted out of 3 heavy and 2 light batteries. Batterie 2 was a heavy one. It was stationed in Magdeburg. In December 1941 it moved to Nurnburg. In the summer of 1942 it was renamed in to Schwere Flak-Abteilung 522.
