Nice worn dog tag from a soldier who served in Grenadier Regiment 1051.
The dog tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows signs of wear. Its a well preserved ground dug. The regiment was formed in Februari 1944 in Northern France (Dieppe) from Grenadier Regiment 1022. It was part of the 84.Infanterie-Division. At the end of July 1944 it was put into action in the Normandy Campaign and was destroyed in the Falaise Pocket.
The division was formed again in Ocotber 1944 in the area of Kleve (Germany) and was integrated in the Luftwaffen-Festungs-Bataillon XVII. It was destroyed in the Wesel Bridgehead.
