The overall condition of the dogtag is good. Its a well preserved grounddug. The number 210660 tell us the soldier served in the 11.Kompanie Fallschirmjäger Regiment 13. This regiment was formed in April 1944 and saw its first action during the Allied invasion of Normandy in the St. Lô area. In the Marigny area it fought together with 17. SS-Panzergrenadier-Division "Götz von Berlichingen". In September 1944 it was stationed and strengthened in the Oldenburg (Holland) area. It particitpated from the beginning of the Ardennes Offensive which started on the 16th of December. It crossed the river Our. From the 23rd till the 25th of December it attacked the town of Bastogne. On the 27th the regiment was in the Harlange-Bavigne area. After the Ardennes the regiment was pushed back into Germany.
